Many people view God in a deistic way, believing He isn’t involved in our everyday lives. But the psalmists knew differently. They understood the reality of who God is, His bigness, His character, His faithfulness and His love, and in that, they understood the nearness of God. The book of Psalms will raise your sights to see God in a different way. Knowing who God is puts everything in a proper perspective. Circumstances may not change, but recognizing “He is with me” regardless of circumstance changes everything and allows us to direct our lives upward in a life of worshiping the one true God.
