King Manasseh was the son of Hezekiah, one of the godliest kings to ever sit on the throne in Jerusalem. Yet Manasseh is regarded as the most evil king to ever reign in Judah. He not only undid all the good his dad had done for the Lord, he escalated perversion, idolatry and atrocity to alarming new levels. His 55 years as king (the longest tenure of any king in Israel or Judah) is remembered primarily as a time of darkness and evil. Yet at the end of his life, there is light and hope; God shows up. Manasseh's life teaches us that sin always has consequences, but God's grace is greater than our sin.
